State Senator Julie Morrison has dedicated her time as a lawmaker to bettering the lives of all Illinoisans — especially members of the state’s most vulnerable communities. Throughout her near-decade in the Illinois Senate, Senator Morrison has championed a number of laws to support people with disabilities, victims of domestic violence, and children in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services.
In recent years, Senator Morrison has become the Senate’s chief leader on elections reform, successfully passing the Illinois’ permanent expansion of vote-by-mail. Senator Morrison is the majority Caucus Whip for the 102nd General Assembly, and is chair of the Senate Health Committee. She also serves on the environment and conservation committee, ethics committee and financial institutions committee.
