Housing Guidance in Hardship

NSLAC’s Client and their partner were working to regain stable housing after losing their home. With one partner unable to work because of a disability and the other struggling to find employment, the couple faced significant financial hardship and were temporarily living in a hotel. When they received notice that their stay could be terminated because of unpaid costs, they turned to NSLAC for guidance.

During the consultation, NSLAC explained the legal significance of the notice, reviewed the Client’s rights and available options, and connected them with housing and community resources. Although the consultation was brief, it provided the client with the information and support needed to make informed decisions and continue working toward stable housing.
