North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic (NSLAC) has partnered with the City of Rolling Meadows to host a short-term guardianship clinic. Short-term guardianships are a means for parents to ensure the care of their minor children without going to court.  They can be useful if a parent is concerned with deportation, traveling out of town, having a medical procedure, or simply unavailable for a specified duration of time.   While any parent will benefit from a short-term guardianship plan, they are especially crucial given potential changes in US immigration laws.

Speak With An Attorney About Your Immigration Case – ILSP Workshops

The North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic is excited to share that we continue to be a part of a state-wide program in Illinois, the Immigrant Legal Support Program (ILSP) lead by The Resurrection Project and the IDHS.

ILSP holds regular workshops to immigrants in Illinois. At our workshops, you are able to speak directly with an attorney about your immigration case and receive advice. In addition, we hold weekly Know Your Rights presentations, Orientations on What to Expect at Your ICE/ISAP Check-Ins and Safety Planning Workshops,  where we are providing Short Term Guardianship and Letters of Power of Attorney for Finances for individuals who fear they will be detained by ICE.

If you think you can benefit from any of these services, please sign up for an appointment at our local Hanover Park or Palatine locations:
