A Granddaughter’s Journey of Love Beyond Borders

Our Client had been a DACA recipient since they were 16 years old. Although the Client was not eligible for any form of relief, we had successfully renewed their DACA status several times. One day the client came to NSLAC with an urgent request to travel to their home country to see their dying grandparents. Given that the Clients parents were undocumented, and could not travel to see their parents, our client felt it was their responsibility to go in place of their parent’s. We filed for advanced parole on humanitarian grounds, and the request was quickly approved. This allowed our Client to travel and be with her grandparents before it was too late.
