After-Hours Fight for Safety

The Client was a mother in a pending family law case involving a guardian ad litem, who had been appointed to investigate and make recommendations regarding the best interests of her minor child. During the investigation, the guardian ad litem contacted NSLAC’s attorney with alarming news: the father had been taking inappropriate photographs of the child.

Given the urgency of the situation, NSLAC attorneys immediately assisted the client in obtaining an Emergency Order of Protection at the overnight domestic violence courthouse. Despite the challenges of navigating an unfamiliar after-hours court process, NSLAC attorneys acted quickly to secure legal protection for the child.

This case not only ensured the child’s immediate safety but also deepened our team’s knowledge of emergency court procedures, allowing us to better serve other clients facing dangerous situations outside of regular court hours.
