Tenant Legal Victory After an Unjust Eviction

The Client and her adult disabled daughter had been renting a single-family home for almost 20 years. One day, their landlord abruptly decided that he no longer wanted to rent to them. Although the Client was entitled to a 60-day notice that their month-to-month tenancy would be terminated, their landlord only gave the client a 30-day notice and filed an eviction case. Although the Client was able to find another rental and move out, the landlord continued to pursue a monetary judgment against the Client. Recognizing the challenges, NSLAC represented the Client in the eviction case and was able to get the case dismissed without any monetary judgment entered.
